Albury - Wodonga Threatened Species Monitoring

Albury-Conserv-Co_black.jpg

Since 2018, we have been contracted by Albury Conservation Company to implement their threatened species monitoring program in the Albury (NSW) and Wodonga (VIC) council areas. We have been monitoring >120 sites biannually (Autumn and Spring) across the border area using 70 remote sensing cameras in an effort to detect threatened species including the Squirrel Glider (Petaurus norfolcensis), Brush-tailed Phascogale (Phascogale tapoatafa) and Spotted Quoll (Dasyurus maculatus). Throughout this program we have led community engagement events, advised local councils and participated in the most recent Glider Symposium, sitting on the panel of the Squirrel Glider survey design and monitoring workshop. Data collected from the program contributes to species distribution records and is actively used by planners to inform development applications.

What do our clients say?

"The continued success of the program has been made possible thanks to Dylan McWhinney's expertise, passion and professionalism. I have no hesitation recommending their services." Sam Niedra, Executive Officer, Albury Conservation Company
